Das Mega-Lokomobil

Die Firma Märklin hat Anfang des 20ten Jahrhunderts ein faszinierendes stationäres Lokomobil gebaut. Diese 4159 ist heute nur noch ganz selten zu bekommen und dann auch entsprechend teuer. Die Maschine hatte 2 Zylinder, zwei 110mm Schwungräder, einen Generator und laut Beschreibung auch noch ein Schaltbrett.

The Märklin company built a fascinating stationary locomotive at the beginning of the 20th century. This 4159 is very rare to get today and is correspondingly expensive. The machine had 2 cylinders, two 110mm flywheels, a generator and, according to the description, a control board.

Die Märklin 4159 hat mich dazu inspiriert, eine solche Maschine auf Basis von Wilesco-Bauteilen zu bauen. Herausgekommen ist ein recht großes Lokomobil auf der Grundplatte einer D141. Kombiniert mit einem Kesselhaus der D18, einem um eine Kondensatkammer verlängerten D20-Kessel, 2 100mm Schwungräder der D20 und 2 Zylindern der D16 ergibt sich dann eine doch recht ansehnliche Maschine.

The Märklin 4159 inspired me to build such a machine based on Wilesco components. The result is a fairly large locomotive on the base plate of a D141. Combined with a D18 boiler house, a D20 boiler extended by a condensate chamber, 2 100mm flywheels from the D20 and 2 cylinders from the D16, the result is a pretty impressive machine.

Die Zylinder der D16 entsprechen in Hub und Bohrung dem der D20 aufwärts. So hat dieses Lokomobil mit 2 Zylindern und 2 großen Schwungrädern praktisch dieselben Antriebskomponenten wie eine D32. Nur auf deutlich kompakterem Raum und mit einer durchgehenden Kurbelwelle.

The cylinders of the D16 correspond in stroke and bore to those of the D20 upwards. This locomotive with 2 cylinders and 2 large flywheels has practically the same drive components as a D32. Only in a much more compact space and with a continuous crankshaft.

Das Dampfventil ist wie bei der Märklin auch hinten horizontal angebracht. Sicherheitsventil und Manometer schmiegen sich in den Zwischenraum der beiden Zylinder.

As with the Märklin, the steam valve is also mounted horizontally at the back. The safety valve and pressure gauge nestle in the space between the two cylinders.

Auch mein Modell hat ein Schaltpult für die Demonstration der elektrischen Energie. hier kann man zwischen Licht und Kraft umschalten. Bei Licht leuchtet die Lampe, bei Kraft dreht sich der Elektromotor.

My model also has a control panel for demonstrating electrical energy. Here you can switch between light and power. When there is light, the lamp lights up; when there is power, the electric motor rotates.
