Dampftag Fahr-Freunde - steam event Fahr-friends

In Gottmadingen direkt an der schweizerischen Grenze gibt es einen Verein, der sich mit allem befasst was die Marke Fahr hergestellt hat. Eine wirklich faszinierende Ausstellung und ein sehr aktiver Verein.

In Gottmadingen, directly on the Swiss border, there is an association that deals with everything the brand Fahr has made. A really fascinating exhibition and a very active club.

In der Ausstellungshalle des Vereins fand dieses Jahr Anfang September ein Dampftag statt. Hier kann jeder vorbeikommen, seine Dampfmaschine mitbringen und anheizen.

In the exhibition hall of the association, a steam day took place at the beginning of September this year. Everyone can come here, bring their steam engine and steam up.

Ich hatte ein paar Modelle mitgebracht. Die Werkstatt hat dann wieder den ganzen Tag durch Arbeit verrichtet.

I brought some of my engines. Especially my Workshop was steamed the whoel day and did a lot of work.

Auch habe ich einen neuen Freund gefunden. Paul war mit seinem Opa und ein paar Maschinen dort. Meine gute alte OldSmoky hatte es Ihm dann aber doch sichtlich angetan.

I also found a new friend. Paul was there with his grandfather and a few machines. But obviously my good old Old Smoky did it to him.

Aber natürlich waren auch noch andere Dampfmaschinen dort. Es waren dieses jahr zwar nicht allzu viele, aber wir haben alle gemeinsam viel Spass gehabt.

But of course there were other steam engines there too. It was not too many this year, but we all had a lot of fun together.

Ein absolutes Highlight war dann auch noch Yeti, der mit seinem Lokomobil dort war. Wer wollte konnte sogar auf seinem Personenanhänger eine Runde mitfahren und erfahren, was Dampf so alles möglich macht.

An absolute highlight was Yeti, who was there with his locomobile. If you wanted, you could even ride a lap on hi trailer and find out what steam makes possible.

Und dann kam etwas völlig Unerwartetes: Yeti hat mir nicht nur angeboten mitzufahren, sondern seinen Dampftraktor selber zu steuern. Das ist dann schon was anderes, als die kleinen Spielzeug-Dampfmaschinen aus meiner Sammlung!

And then something completely unexpected happened: Yeti offered me not only to have a ride on the trailer, but to control his steam tractor myself. That's something else than the small toy steam engines from my Collection.
